Beijing's Sanyuan Bridge to Be Retrofitted within 43 Hours

The refurbishment of Beijing's Sanyuan Bridge, or Sanyuanqiao started at 11p.m. on Nov. 13, 2015. The whole reconstruction process completed within 43 hours. Over 1300 tons of new surfacing for the bridge have been transported to the construction site to replace the old surface. Sanyuan Bridge is a major overpass on the northeastern stretch of the 3rd Ring Road of Beijing. The Airport Expressway, Jingshun Road (China National Highway 101) and the 3rd Ring Road are interlinked by the vital overpass. The Central American country of Guatemala has just experienced its most lethal volcanic eruption in over 100 years. Hundreds are dead, injured and missing. And the search for survivors is daunting. College debt has surged to alarming levels in the United States. Tens of millions of students owe enormous amounts. And many are defaulting. Correspondent Mike Kirsch reports from California on the growing debacle of student debt. A staggering 40 million students are in debt or have defaulted on their college loans in the United States. How much debt? Almost one and a half trillion dollars’ worth. And yet unlike failing Wall Street banks who declared bankruptcy during the 2008 recession, college students today are not offered this same kind of relief. Among those defaulting are thousands of students from Latin American countries who say the American Dream has plunged them into life-crushing debt.
