Bugatti Veyron Super Sport - Amazing Engineering The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engined sports car, designed and developed by the Volkswagen Group and manufactured in Molsheim, France by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. The Super Sport version of the Veyron is the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph).[4] The original version has a top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph).[5] It was named Car of the Decade (2000--2009) by the BBC television programme Top Gear. The standard Bugatti Veyron won Top Gear's Best Car Driven All Year award in 2005. On 6 April 2013, Bugatti set the record for having the highest top speed of any roadster in the world with the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, reaching on average a top speed of 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph).[6][7] The Veyron's chief designer was Hartmut Warkuss, and the exterior was designed by Jozef Kabaň of Volkswagen, with much of the engineering work being conducted under the guidance of engineering chief Wolfgang Schreiber. A number of special variants have been produced. In December 2010, Bugatti began offering prospective buyers the ability to customize exterior and interiors colours by using the Veyron 16.4 Configurator application on the marque's official website.

Aerodynamic Drag - Explained

07:03
What is aerodynamic drag? What makes a vehicle aerodynamic? How does drag affect cars? Drag is the resistive force a fluid places on something trying to pass through it. As your car drives through the air, the drag attempts to slow it down, and you must provide power to overcome this. As drag increases exponentially with speed, so does the amount of horsepower required to overcome said drag. Cars like the Tesla Model S and Toyota Prius have very low drag coefficients, allowing them to drive more efficiently at higher speeds. Explanation of P=Fv 1. Start with power, power is the rate of energy use. Power = Energy/Time. 2. Energy is required to accomplish work, which is defined as Force times Distance. Energy = Force*Distance. 3. Power = (Force*Distance)/Time 4. Power = Force*(Distance/Time) 5. Power = Force*Velocity (P=Fv) Please feel free to rate, comment, and subscribe! Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Explanatory Video (english)

02:39
Contemporary product development would be unimaginable today without computer-aided engineering (CAE). In the past, companies often used to design products based on experience, but knowledge-based virtual development (CAE) has been standard practice in the automotive industry for many years now. In an explanatory video, TECOSIM briefly explains how the method works and how it assists engineers in meeting increasing requirements for safety, comfort and environmental protection. TECOSIM is one of the few development partners which has specialised exclusively in CAE.

An Iconic MIT Engineering Class

06:47
Taught by award-winning professor David Wallace, 2.009: Product Engineering Processes is a rigorous capstone class for undergraduates in the Mechanical Engineering program at MIT, bringing together everything students have learned along the way to develop a market-ready product together with a team of classmates. The final presentation is always a sold-out event, and teams often go on to start a company based on their products, or to sell their technology to another company. It is one of those iconic classes that those who take it never forget, an example of engineering education at its finest -- and most fun.
