CLIMATE CHANGE: Reaction in Germany vs. USA

08:19
The climate is changing, but what's been the reaction in Germany & USA? So my question for you is: Climate change is of course a gigantic topic, and it’s impossible to squeeze everything into this kind of a video, so it would be really great if the conversation could continue down in the comments. What kind of signs of climate change have you seen where you live and what actions have the people or the government taken to help the environment? Also what are some of the little things that you maybe try to do every day to save energy or just help the planet in general? I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. The social climate in the USA (Das soziale Klima in den USA) - Joshua Rashaad McFadden "After Selma"

01:30
Fotoausstellung im Amerikahaus: Das soziale Klima in den USA (BR 16.02.2017) In After Selma, Joshua Rashaad McFadden’s photographs delve intimately into the lives of a hurting, yet hopeful people in the South during and after the 50th anniversary of the march from Selma to Montgomery. His work explores the comparison between civil rights demonstration efforts during the march of the 1960s and the current protests arising from police brutality cases across the United States. McFadden reflects topics he is passionate about. The images, purposefully set in black and white, highlight the shades of emotion experienced by present-day Selma sojourners. A spirit of unity and hope was captured in each frame as multigenerational subjects reflect the strength of a community and a people, regardless of color. Featured Alabama landscapes, seemingly somber, again become the birthplace of faith in a better future.

WHAT'S BEHIND CLIMATE CHANGE - USA EXITS PARIS CLIMATE CHANGE ACCORD

35:01
The world leaders and activists are all claiming to save the world and the environment. But is this really the true narrative behind climate change? The UN climate agenda is really about power and wealth. More precisely it is getting the power to redistribute global wealth through carbon taxes, carbon pricing, carbon trading and carbon regulations. Dr. Ottmar Edenhofer said: “We redistribute de facto the world wealth by climate policy”. Many thanks to the sources below: LibertyInOurTime Michael McIntee

USA storm weather seeming like UFO landing extreme climate upon the real shot 實拍美國上空恐怖雷雨天氣

01:15
Spring is a time of transition from the cold, snowy winter to the hot days of summer. In most parts of the United States, this time of year corresponds to the "rainy season" during which thunderstorms frequently occur. We have all heard that the month of March comes "in like a lion and out like a lamb," but this is really due to the changeable nature of the weather at this time of year. It is just as likely to be the other way around, with storms occurring at any part of this transition season. Some facts about thunderstorms: What causes thunderstorms? Thunderstorms are the result of powerful convection -- the rapid upward movement of warm, moist air through dryer, cooler air. As this air moves higher it cools and the moisture condenses forming towering cumulonimbus clouds. Water droplets and ice form and begin falling through the clouds. As they fall, they collide with each other and grow larger. The falling droplets create a downdraft of air that generates the strong winds associated with thunderstorms. The strongest and largest type of thunderstorm is called a supercell. Where do thunderstorms occur most frequently? Thunderstorm intensity is related to the contrast in moisture and temperature of adjacent air masses, and this is strongest in mid-latitudes. It is further facilitated by flat open terrain such as that in the Great Plains of the US. This region is known as "Tornado Alley" due to its large number of severe storms, which often spawn tornadoes. As seen in this graphic showing the number of hail days per year, there appears to be a bulls-eye right over the state of Oklahoma. It is no coincidence that this is the location of the National Severe Storms Laboratory! Are storms happening more often due to climate change? Many scientists think so. Although any single storm cannot be attributed to climate change, an increasing trend can be. This seeming paradox requires understanding the difference between weather and climate. How should we prepare for severe storms? Damage from thunderstorms is mainly from downburst winds, large hailstones, and flash flooding caused by heavy precipitation. Therefore, it is wise to stay indoors and out of low-lying areas. Watch out for downed power lines and trees. Some thunderstorms spawn tornadoes which of course cause more extreme damage from the higher winds in the resulting vortex. What is a severe thunderstorm watch? The National Weather Service will issue a severe thunderstorm watch when "conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area". What is a severe thunderstorm warning? The National Weather Service will issue a severe thunderstorm warning when "either a severe thunderstorm is indicated by... radar or a spotter ... and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour; therefore, people in the affected area should seek safe shelter immediately." Narendra MODI Slams DONALD TRUMP USA for Paris Climate deal

Narendra Modi Slams Donald Trump USA for Paris Climate deal . Narendra Modi Takes a Dig at Donald Trump USA is out of Paris Climate deal . Narendra Modi vs Donald Trump . Modi in Russia . Modi and Putin meeting in Russia . Modi Slams Donald Trump for Paris Climate change deal. PM Narendra Modi was addressing the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in St Petersburg in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Photo: Reuters St Petersburg: India is committed to protecting the climate, irrespective of the Paris agreement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Friday but avoided a direct reference to the US withdrawing from the international deal. Addressing the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) here in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said India has traditionally been respecting nature and desisted from exploiting it. “Paris or no Paris, our commitment to preserving the climate is for the sake of future generations,” Modi said while responding to a question about US President Donald Trump announcing withdrawal of the USA from the Climate Change deal. He said he had made the same comment in Germany three days back when “nobody’s comment had come”, an apparent reference to Trump’s announcement on Friday. “I said it in then, I say it now,” he added. Trump earlier in the day said the US was withdrawing from the Paris climate change deal, agreed by more than 190 nations. He said it unfairly benefited countries like India and China. Asked by the moderator whether India would side with the US or others on the Paris climate change deal, Modi replied, “it is not a question of which way I go. I will go with the future generations.” He underlined, “we must leave for our future generations a climate wherein they can breathe clean air and have a healthy life.” Earlier, addressing the event, the prime minister said, “India is a responsible nation with regard to climate change...We can milk the nature... Exploitation of nature is not acceptable to us,” he said. He said India had been working to protect the environment even before the Paris deal reached in 2015. “For the last 5000 years, even when I was not born, it has been the tradition in India to protect the environment,” Modi said. He recalled that when he was the chief minister of Gujarat before 2014, the state had created a separate department for environment protection. Thanks for watching. Subscribe to our channel. Climate Change Migrants - USA

12:07
August 2007 Alaska is feeling the effects of global warming more than anywhere else. The tiny village of Shismaref is literally being swallowed by the sea. Villagers will soon have to be relocated. According to one villager, the sea reclaims; "20 to 100 feet" of coastline every year. Just as the foundations of this Inuit village are being eroded so too is the villagers' ability to hunt. "Due to the dangerous ice conditions, we have to be very careful", states one hunter. Recently, a man died after plunging through the ice. The situation is now so bad, there are plans to move the entire community to mainland America. "It's got to be the whole community moving to one place", states islander Dennis Davis. Villagers are committed to preserving their Inuit culture. Produced by ABC Australia Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

USA: Trump to withdraw US from Paris climate agreement

01:09
US President Donald Trump announced that the US will withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, speaking at the White House in Washington D.C, Thursday. The president's statement comes following his refusal to state whether the US would remain part of the Paris Climate Change Agreement, a deal brokered by predecessor President Barack Obama, whilst at the recent G7 Summit in Taormina, Italy. Trump's decision to withdraw the country from the climate accord is said to have been influenced by a letter signed by 22 Republican US senators who sent a two-page letter last week urging him to hold to his campaign pledge and pull out. The Paris Agreement is the first legally-binding global deal aimed at reducing climate emissions in the fight against climate change. Together the US and China represent almost 40% of all global emissions. In 2013 Trump tweeted that global warming was "a total and very expensive hoax". Romney Crowd Boos, 'USA' Chants Against Climate Change

02:18
"A heckler interrupted Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney during a rally Thursday in Virginia Beach, Va., shouting "climate change caused Sandy" before he was booed at and escorted away from the event. The man was standing near the front of the crowd and waited until a few minutes into Romney's speech to interrupt, just after the candidate urged his supporters to donate to victims of superstorm Sandy. The man held up a sign that read "End Climate Silence." The crowd shouted "U-S-A" and one man pulled away the sign. The heckler was then removed from the room. Romney's policies on climate change -- or lack thereof -- are under renewed scrutiny in light of superstorm Sandy, which hit the east coast this week and caused major damage. Romney canceled campaign rallies after the storm hit and instead gathered supporters to a campaign-lite event gathering donations to send to those impacted by the storm."* Cenk Uygur breaks down the question and subsequent epicly ignorant response from the crowd. Do you think if we're loud enough, we'll scare climate change into not existing? *Read more and watch the video from Elise Foley/ Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/01/mitt-romney-heckled-climate-silence_n_2059174.html Support The Young Turks by Subscribing http://bit.ly/TYTonYouTube Support The Young Turks by Shopping http://bit.ly/XhuNqO Like Us on Facebook: Follow Us on Twitter: http://bit.ly/OkX87X Buy TYT Merch: http://theyoungturks.spreadshirt.com/

Islamic Relief USA - Eastern Africa Emergency - Climate Crisis

01:32
Islamic Relief USA has mobilized for an emergency humanitarian crisis in eastern Africa. Over 15 million people are in need of aid, and that number continues to grow. The cause is El Niño, and the problem is severe drought coupled with extreme rain. The effects started in December, and conditions will continue to worsen over the coming months. The climate crisis persists, but the response is ours. Parts of Africa are facing their worst drought in decades In the places with too little water, seasonal rains were delayed, or they failed altogether, leading to drought. Too much rain may sound like a blessing in comparison, but that’s a life-threatening problem too. Right now, Ethiopia is the hardest hit. Millions of people are malnourished, and livestock are dying. There is just not enough food. In parts of Somalia, Kenya and southern Ethiopia, floods have damaged crops and spread waterborne illness, especially among people already weak from malnutrition. Many families have been displaced from their homes. Islamic Relief has been working in East Africa for two decades. Local teams are already delivering emergency relief in their communities, and they’ve asked us for help. All they need is something to deliver. Will you give it to them? Islamic Relief USA—working together for a better world.

#forwardonclimate Denver Colorado 2013 - Climate Rally across the USA - 350.org

February 17th 2013 was a day for the history books for the largest climate rally ever held in Washington DC. There was a reported 50,000 ppl in attendance, according to the count by 350.org. Around the country rallies were held in solidarity with the larger group in DC, but the message was the same and climate is a topic that affects us all. Here in Colorado, fracking has been going on for a decade or more and the current Governor still doesn't seem to get that that all the issue that have happened over the years are due to carelessness and greed by the companies profiting from the pollution of the country. Well it has come to a tipping point and ppl will not be silent, the Keystone XL pipeline will not cross this country. No matter what it takes this project will be stopped and everyday more ppl realize that fossil fuels are not the answer. So please write to your elected officials, hold a protest in your local area, a talk, really anything that will raise awareness for one more person. A big thank you to those that make this fight possible and believe in the change that will someday come. for more information on this charge forward check out 350.org the Sierra club and for a very amazing view into the world of fracking check out the movie gaslands by Josh Fox. USA-Egypt - Investment Climate and Entrepreneurship

01:12:44
The third and final panel of the day, Investment Climate, and Entrepreneurship, discussed the key economic changes Egypt will need to go through, as well as the future of business and growth sustainability. Egypt is the largest economic market in the Middle East, with over 90 million people. An open and competitive economy, a politically stable government, and the potential for investment from nations around the world will be key in the growth and sustainability of Egypt. The distinguished panelists included Nelson Cunningham, Dante Disparte, Khush Chosky, and Basil El Baz. Dante Disparte set the tone for the discussion by saying no matter where you stand politically, economics will punish you. Egypt must establish a pathway forward that encourages investment and creates jobs. The driver behind Egypt's way forward is small and medium enterprises (SMEs). According to Basil El Baz Egypt has the basic fundamentals to provide jobs, but lacks investment and the economic reforms to facilitate growth. His solution is to increase education on entrepreneurship on a wide scale to promote the development of SMEs, something the United States could easily partner with. Being a successful Egyptian entrepreneur himself, whose company is now the largest investor in post-revolutionary Egypt, El Baz challenges the concept that Egypt is hard to work in. His projects, having been developed in a complicated market, established a well-balanced structure that allows his company to flourish. El Baz believes Egypt has the proper model to develop a highly efficient economy. Using an anecdote about South Korea modeling their system after Egypt decades ago, El Baz stresses that Egypt simply needs to make the proper decisions to ensure that their own model works. El Baz said, "Through reform, through structure you can establish practically any economic goal" as the South Koreans did, who now have a highly developed economy. Mustafa Abdel-Wadood, however, reminds us of the set of harsh realities in Egypt -- political transition, unemployment, and lack of investment -- that only hinder long-term challenges such as growth, employment, and education. Egypt has deteriorated over the past few years and remains an uncertain market. Khush Choksy lists 5 economic issues that must change for Egypt to move forward and encourage investment: (1) a comprehensive economic policy must be enacted, (2) there must be a reform in the bureaucracy, (3) a genuine public- private sector dialogue must take place, (4) business best practices must be instituted, and (5) there should be a government-to-government dialogue between Egypt and the U.S. Despite the challenges ahead and the tone presented in the media, each panelists remains fervently optimistic about the future of Egypt. Basil El Baz described discipline as one of the main keys to Egypt's success and he believes that with discipline you can navigate through any turbulent time.
