Can you pair a BT 5 speaker with a BT 4 phone for instance? Will it not have the benefits?

In a bit late... but Sonos is pretty much perfectly in sync, and also allows for L+R pairing (and a lot more than 2 speakers). To say that "Dual Audio" is the same as Sonos is pretty far off, even if the speakers are expensive.

So Bluetooth 5.0 doesn't cover battery life improvements?

Mathis Müller (2 months ago)
If one can connect two speakers, there should definitely be an option that lets one add some delay to one of the speakers. Sure one could build it into the protocol as well (please do) but for older speakers a delay would be great!
Bhavesh Chauhan (2 months ago)
Does dual audio support in Google Pixel 2 XL?
Leonardo Cuenca (2 months ago)
Is it me or is your hairline messed up
Cody Erlanger (2 months ago)
Sorry to be a downer but i LOVE the small range of bluetooth.. Unless you can adjust the range (please do) Bluetooth is why i dont lose my phone. (buzz buzz) out of range trying to connect. 10-30 ft allows me to leave a room then come back before someone steals my phone.
Unknown94 (2 months ago)
I really don’t use bluetooth and people only need it for wireless headphones and bluetooth speakers. I use a audio cable now that’s better.
Adam T (2 months ago)
Ok...but when I'm wearing my smart watch and misplace/leave my phone behind, I want to be notified within 15 feet not 120 feet

5.0 thats a big number.
EddyGraphic (2 months ago)
You can prevent the audio delay when using 2 speakers at the same time by closing Spotify and opening it again, it wirks for me everytime, after that they sync perfectly.

So when we connect 2 samsung galaxy S8 via bluetooth 5.0,, it will double the range (50m x2). it will be 100m. thats very nice. pls correct me if Im wrong.. peace

Does anyone know if the Iphone 8 supports dual audio since it has bluetooth 5?
TROVEADMIN (3 months ago)
suince when can you have double data transfer and longer range without changing the recivers
Jeffery Williams (4 months ago)
So inaccurate. Bluetooth5 mode is a special mode, need a compatible device at the other end and the long range is for low bit rate only, so no music. Good grief.
Michał Limitless (4 months ago)
So you're saying this bluetooth version will eventually work? It will be the fist BT protocol that may be useful. Don't know why previous iterations are such disaster, yet so popular.
Gregory A. (4 months ago)
Hi Marques. I am thinking to make my own YouTube video (not competing against you of course). What apps and hardware can you recommend for beginners like me? Thanks.
kosh2501 (4 months ago)
Is bluetooth 5.0 backwards compatible with 4.0 or lower?
George Munuka (4 months ago)
What a great insight on the technology! In most cases Bluetooth is used for audio speakers nowadays. I get to wonder if Apple always knew this, hence their approach towards the mighty Blue. Excellent breakdown, I swear my mum would have understood it. No kidding, you are really good. A thousand thumbs up!!!
Jessy Lee (4 months ago)
You honestly do the best tech reviews I've seen on YouTube. Thanks man.

I love your videos, but there is incorrect information. The Bluetooth SIG did a terrible job explaining Bluetooth 5 and caused this confusion. 1. The extended Bluetooth range on Bluetooth 5 is an OPTIONAL feature for Bluetooth 5, so unless someone can verify the phone has the range, it may not be there. 2. The extended Bluetooth 5 range is SLOWER than Bluetooth 4.2 since it uses the optional coded PHY that gets its longer distance by reducing speed. 3. The higher 2x speed is an OPTIONAL feature of Bluetooth 5. So again, this feature needs to be verified it exists on each Bluetooth product. 4. Kind of a repeat, but if the Bluetooth 5 has both OPTIONAL features of the longer range and higher speed, know that these features are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE of one another. In other words, you either get the longer range OR the higher speed, but NOT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. Anyway, keep up the great videos, but please correct this misinformation that the Bluetooth SIG completely messed up (Mr. Powell, are you listening?)
DoOrDoNot ThereIsNoTry (4 months ago)
Marques, I’m sure you have heard of JBL flip 4 speakers, well they hold the Guinness book world record for the most Bluetooth speakers simultaneously running on a single device, over 1000 flip 4 speakers all at once.
