I think Apple are the kings of tablets and laptops. if someone says 'tablet', the first thing that comes into people's heads is 'iPad'. similarly, if you say 'laptop', people automatically think 'MacBook'. iPhones are lacking compared to Samsung or huawuwaiue but both them companies would be laughed out of the room if they seriously tried to make a tablet or laptop to compete with the iPad or MacBook. (macs are up there in the desktop market too.)
Tablets are fun but more of just a luxury. Just a casual fun toy. I generally always purchased tablets in place of a laptop since with the addition of a Bluetooth keyboard was a much cheaper option than the real thing...
I think a part is tablets seem to last longer, bit like a laptop. I know several people who still use an iPad 2 daily to watch videos and browse the internet, and they don't need anything more than that because what they have does the job perfectly well still after these years.
To me, if it's not running Windows, a tablet isn't interesting. I see more a tablet as a "sub-computer" rather than a "super-smartphone" , and that's why I love 2-in-1 convertibles.
That's also why I expect a lot from the first "Windows on Snapdragon" tablets that will ship this year. Having a 24/7 LTE connectivity with excellent battery life on a device still capable of running full desktop applications could be fantastic.
But I also know everyone's use of a tablet is different so you might disagree.
I am not buying a 500 Euro phone every 2 years...frankly people who do are idiots (sorry, but I mean that!) who shy away from the work of looking for a good custom-rom when the manufacturer cuts off the updates and installing it...so sad how lazy people are (hell, I consider myself lazy, but not THAT lazy!)<
well I just use my phone for everything and my desktop for everything else my phone can't do, I used to be for tablets but since 2014 I've fallen away from them sadly I used and still have the original Ipad from 2010 and to me it is my favorite. It reminds me when steve jobs was running apple and things were mean't to be simple and easy :)
Two reasons for the fall-off; as far as Apple is concerned, there is virtually no competition from Android, and Apple updates their software so often and the older iPads have been allowed to run with the iOS 11 so there is no need to upgrade our iPads.
As a collage student, I can say that no one uses tablets
Yes it's more portable
But it dosent have the same functionality as a laptop
Typing experienc, note taking, doing homework ect
Everyone who an ipad gets a key board with it
And with all that it's costs I just put that money towards Lenovo 920
Alot more convienent
Everything you can do on your tablet you can do on your phone, why have 2? I realized everything I do on my iPad I can do on my MacBook Air, if I carry a second device, it will be a computer, not just a bigger phone. But I still have 6 tablets, they just sit here watching mt type on my MacBook Air
For me. Most majority of people buy Andriod for Phone. And Apple for tablet. And if you can see many people prefered iPad than other tablet. And I think this 2018 still many people buy iPad. But the android tablets are declining.
Vinnie Sifter ok why the fuvk do you want to argue just fuck of get on with your own life and there's you boasting about having what a "big tablet great iPad" without no fucking proof ( post a video let me see it!) While other people are less fortunate! I mean I'm happy with my tablet because it does things that I like ! So stop trying to sound like *rich man!* I mean how old are you!?!!! 2? You must be beacause your trying to sound better!
Because they are the best hardware so you don’t need to buy one again. Hey Smartphones are going to drop here soon watch because there is less blow our mind features. I use my iPad for school really only.
My Galaxy Tab A 10.1 gets used a minimum of 90 minutes every night. Laying in bed, my tablet is my book, my music, my TV. Tablets as a whole may be declining in sales, but I will always use them as long as they are available.
I do almost everything on my 2014 Galaxy tab. I just love it, and it still runs like new. And you "can't" read a book on a smartphone, no matter how big it is. I don't expect my tablet to be better, more powerfull than my phone, just bigger.
I personally don’t like them as much. It’s hard to type on them. Not as compact for walking around with. Also, I don’t trust them. What can they do that we can’t do on our phones? They’re basically useless.
I had a Playbook which dies and couldn't be fixed. It was replaced with a Samsung Tab A. It works for what I want it for: YouTube, reading the news and other time wasters in bed. My laptop still works but it's connected to my big screen. When and if my mid-sized tablet goes, I'll get another one. It fits my current needs.
one big problem i think exists with tablet sales, is that it's the governments to blame. Us adults who aren't famous youtubers or footballers have to cope with our wages, pay our bills, and insurance that is only there to benefit the insurance companies. Then there's all the tax that is taken from us (i should actually be saying stolen with the amount that gets taken from me)...
When all is said and done, the government doesn't allow one to have money left over for luxury items. It's already a stretch to replace our phones/computers. never mind adding an expensive tablet on top of that.
and i call insurance a scam, because for me, I have to pay $4000 a year in health insurance, and the moment i need it, I can get screwed because my local laws and insurance policies state i have to pay the first $1800 of any bill myself. So unless I have an accident and require some emergency operation, my insurance is entirely useless. But I have to pay it by law, regardless.
The tablet market may have slowed down a little, but I think there are still many people that use/want tablets. However for me personally I love and use the iPad Pro always and think that it is overall more convenient than a laptop, but I understand that for some people they need more than what a tablet can offer.
