How does an Electric Car work ? | Tesla Model S

47353 ratings | 3093081 views
Electric cars are making big waves in the automobile world. These noise-free, pollution-free and high-performance vehicles are expected to make their I.C. engine counterparts obsolete by 2025. This video will unveil the hidden technologies behind the Tesla Model S, which recently became the world’s fastest accelerating car. We will see how electric cars have achieved superior performance by analyzing the technology behind the induction motor, inverter, lithium ion battery power source, regenerative braking and above all, the synchronized vehicle mechanism, in a logical, step-by-step manner. The working and features of Tesla car is explained here with help of animation. ANY reason why there are not efficient solar cell on the roof of the TESLA charging the cell while you're driving or parked ? Tesla has the technology from his HOME Power Roofs and the tiles are quite thin I am sure they can be thinner . Hey ELON !

This setup is incredibly modular, and if I'm hearing it correctly, easy to repair due to the modular design.

Time to move forward with this and stop making lame excuses for this technology from moving forward... This is super awesome and I pray that this awesome technology spreads all over the world. May father GOD/Jesus and mother Mary bless you all.

The graphene batteries are close to production. So electric cars will corner the auto market tremendously after these come out. Just imagine 500+ miles on a single charge followed by 15 minutes fully charge. Then I wonder how it'll affect mileage when considering air conditioning and radio

So, an electric motor and a battery is a new invention, right. And the "new" technology is going to make IC engines obsolete? Of course the slow progress of electric vehicles has nothing to do with diminishing commercial gains and Greens pressure on IC motor industry... And of course, electricity is free flowing in nature and can be pumped just as easily from the ground, thin air or straight from wishful thinking. Oh yeah, electric cars are a new wave but certainly not a revolution.

So much simpler, I believe this is going to be a big part of the future in the automotive industry, after some minor issues with minimal charging stations, charge time and battery costs ,what the hell we're building a wall on the border
thomas kelly (19 days ago)
Did you know that charging batteries from ac mains loses 50 percent of the power in the dc rectification process. A further 50 percent of the battery power is lost in the motor electronic control circuit. So electric cars are very inefficient at about 25 percent. So if you know how many kW are used to get from A to B you multiply that by 4 to calculate the electricity cost.
Toan Leo (20 days ago)
Inductuon motor is not high efficiency. I think so. actually is lower than PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) right ?

Great system in the car and is the near future but reading the comments is like observing a mass hallucination driven by self-serving bias. The car is a coal burner in most cases. Lithium is rare. Lithium battery fires are hard to put out as they release oxygen. The electronics are marvelous but not new and autopilot has driven some drivers to their graves, There fixed it.

let me burst the bubble, the power to weight ratio Should including battery and gas weight, also maintenance gonna knock out your income because you cant do it your self so they gonna rape your wallet so after 5 years when you do the math you ll find that a v4 engine was gonnabe cheaper after factoring in every thing assuming lithium didnt blow up and made you do the math on wheelchair

Did somebody compare the Weight of elctric cars with traditional cars? You will found that Model S is more than two ton. Audi A4 is only 1.6 ton. Dose it make sinse to compare the engine weight?? another question is, Is it so clear to produce the battery? The total efficiency and the eco-friendly of electrical and traditional car nobody can exactly calculate.

A car failed by all standards We are in the Middle East's largest car consumer in the world For cars that run on lithium batteries do not tolerate a temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius In the Middle East, it reaches more than 60 degrees, so I support the use of electric cars and not modern cars so keep this cars working in the Arctic or Antarctica only

This doesn't doesn't matter. Where does it get its power from? Most power is 70% coal, i think 20% natural gas or others and 10 percent other renewables. The real way to stop pollution is to use bio fuel, which pollutes around 70% less.

As innovative as this idea is, I just don't see myself driving an electric car. I enjoy working on conventional gasoline cars and researching to understand the complex engine bay (when it comes to cars, there's always something to learn). I enjoy the power I feel when I accelerate, and the sweet release of shifting at 4k rpms. An electric car takes away the entire car and driver experience. Having to work on and maintain my car, to me, is what makes it truly mine. Besides, electric cars are no cleaner than gasoline inductive cars. They rely on mined and burned coal to power them. The only "clean" car is one that is solar powered.

"Selective Braking" huh ? While it is true throttle control is less responsive on IC cars - "Selective Bracking" -AKA Dynamic Stability Control that's been on the "inferior" IC cars for YEARS -- and they are used without the need of LSD!! Hate to brake it to you, Tesla is probably buying their DSC System ("Selective Braking" as you called it) from the same supplier (BOSCH maybe?) where other inferior IC car manufacturers bought their DSC System from ! You hidden bias in your report is trying to make it sound as if : (A.) DSC (Selective Braking as you called it) is exclusive to electric car and (B.) Tesla invented it. You might be just an Elon fanboy but your video sure makes you sound like a Tesla's paid hitman.

Excuse me for incomprehensible question. When we use brake, so no power supplies to motor. If the motor still runs, is it possible for motor to creates the current flows back to battery? I'm interested in electric vehicles, but I'm only freshman.

I have an electric vehicle, a Tesla Model S. I don't however have any links to buy Lithium Ion batteries, but I am sure if you search YouTube, there are many people that buy and review Lithium Ion or Lithium Ion Polymer batteries since they are now commonly used in drones, RC cars etc. Your application and budget would determine what Lithium Ion batteries would best work for you.
Ky Bousong (1 month ago)
wow, i see.thanks you so much. You seem comprehensible about electric car a lot. Are you a electrical vehicle? and do you know any link which can be trusted to buy lithium lon batteries or else?
