Phone provided by Blackberry for review.
I'm actually hoping that Blackberry launches a cheaper version of their qwerty phones this year. Even the display could be shorter, if it means the keys become bigger. I type whole docs on my phone, so a keyboard for me -- and a lot of ppl who actually use their phones for communications instead of entertainment -- it is a boon. But it's price makes it out of the league for me as it sits right now.
To be honest, the one reason I would buy a Blackberry in 2018 would be its keyboard. Never have I written so fast and without any mistakes. Plus you don't even have to look when you're typing. Muscle memory is where it's at. I'd love to see a Blackberry Passport with Android OS. I even think this one would make Blackberry relevant again.
I don't know why there is so much hate for BlackBerry. There phones are decent . I have priv and it is amazing. Didn't had any issues with it . It's good looking and one of the most sexiest phone I have ever seen. Some people just can't accept that how looking BlackBerry phones are
I'm pretty sure he didn't spend too much time with this phone. If he had, he'd have realized that the keyboard is almost the second killer feature, the other being the battery life. This phone has hands down the longest battery life of any smart phone whose name doesn't start with Lumia. I'm not even sure why I'm watching this, already bought the phone, and if you're considering just go for it.
I love the qwerty keyboard. But how do I get the little notification red light that appears on the message apps? I have to physically go into the apps and check. I don't find the flashing lights at the very top of screen very helpful. Can someone help me??
I really don't think people understand why this is quite frankly the King of handsets. You have to own one to truly understand. And to say they like it but would never buy one, well I'm actually happy people like that don't have this BlackBerry. It's for those who appreciate Real intuitive functionality, Slick design (external and internal ) an almost Supernatural fingerprint sensor. I mean I could go on and on. But like I said before only those who appreciate true quality and user experience deserve this phone. Samsung and IPhone are to this phone to what say Trump and Putin are to the Godfather.
I can see why some people love blackberry. I can see why a keyboard on a phone is amazing. This keyboard clearly is not JUST a keyboard. I can also see no real reason why wireless charging matters. Especially when you can get two whole days out of this phone. I mean how hard is it to plus in a phone while we sleep? Looks like an amazing phone. Not a pretty little breakable one like all the rest. And that’s just fine
Ive always love blackberry phones it had fall off the market for a while for me but this one is good i like the gestures and the physical keyboard i have iphone 10 but could be nice for my secondary line
people do you know how rare are phones with keyboard in 2017+ you can choose dumbphone or blackberry and thats all
back in days we had htc nokia se and all other big phone company producing nice android phones with actual keyboard!
i was huge fan of se mini pro sk17 thaat was awesome phone!
Blackberry should try to move that bottom software section to the keyboard for the next release. The touch keyboard worked great on the Passport because accidental uses of the home button like it happened to you were impossible due to the gesture-based nature BB10. If they could do top tier SoC with a bigger battery, it would be awesome but not absolutely necessary.
I switched to this phone from my s7, and i cant say i have regrets in doing so so far. The specs arent top of the line, but if they upgraded the specs it would be a 100% buy from me later down the line
I’ve been iPhoning for 9 years and I’ve ALWAYS had problems with the touch screen keyboard! Not that severe, but it’s still annoying typing one letter when I meant to type another! I’m tempted to get a BlackBerry as my next handset next year thanks to the physical keyboard but I spent the last 9 years building up a huge iTunes library! I’m also concerned that even next year’s BlackBerry models might not have headphone jacks or 512GB built in storage!
