The camera on the Moto Z is already much better than this day if you really needed to zoom in at 21 megapixels you could really just crop in twice as much and still have the same resolution as the camera mod
I have the Hasselblad mod, and I get much higher quality photos from it than you've shown here. I'd be glad to share these pictures with you. I honestly don't think you're giving the camera enough of a chance. Of course, I always use the manual pro function, so those photos are going to always be higher quality than the auto mode. If you are a professional photographer, or you at least know how to use the pro settings, I highly recommend this mod.
Have you done the pics in RAW? Enhanced them in photoshop as you should do? If these pictures been done in RAW without being processed through Photoshop that cam does better pics than my dslr Nikon d5100 with highend portrait Lens. Cheers.
MKB Very Nice Love the Review and definitely agree they really made TBH something I just looked at said WTH how can they really insult people by making something that cost that much and not be worth it. I'm so glad you pointed this out and could see just by looking at it. I really expected a little better and not so good. I really appreciate you sharing Deb ✌️👌👍
I bought mine used for €100 but even that is too much. Sure, I can shoot in RAW and I have a better flash than the built-in flash but I agree it's better to go for a point & shoot. No socket for mounting on a tripod and not even somewhere to attach a camera strap!?
great video except for the part of not talking about the raw image ability as most photogs would color correct if necessary which helps. yes, they should have made it optical only device for the sony image sensor
hasn't been my experience with the mod. I happen to think it stomps on Samsung and has no record of models catching fire. just saying. is it as good as a handheld camera separate? no. is it a strong improvement? yes
This is my problem with some of the mods. When this phone gets old and you need a new one you've already spent over 200 dollars and probably won't be able to use it on the next phone you get. So why buy the mods. Chances are they are not going to fit on the new phone and not only that they are going to want you to buy Moto mods to keep making money. Rip off!!!
You will be able to use it on your next phone as long as it is one of the Z family series of phones, it's multigenerational so it's not a rip-off. With the battery mod you really wouldn't need to buy a new one for years on end though.
love this. I love taking pictures and I am looking for a phone with good 📷. so I can have it more accessible than carrying a original camera. this "bad" reviews are great they are honest. it's what as a costumer we need.
Point & shoot cameras are dead.
DSLR is about going into the history books.
China now is the owner of Hasselblad.
The Chinese has fired all those European crooks working for Hasselblad. Remember when Hasselblad used Sony cameras and sold them for thousands dollars more?
Step in the right direction! It really isnt that bad actually from what I see here... I've taken amazing photos with lessor camera quality and no one seemed to even notice.... depends on the photographer really ;-)
untamedlion33 Well said and there's settings to alter these supposed issues regarding light intake and what not. As you alluded to, it all depends on the photographer and their knowledge of camera functions and settings.
Very nice and honest video. Yeah, people would say he destroyed the sales of this phone in a single video but think about how many people he save from wasting their money on buying this phone and it's mods. I'd rather go with 1+3T or G.pixel. But anyway, Thanks MKBHD. keep it up!
Hello! I am wondering if you can give me a recommendation. I am trying to transition out of the windows phone (I know I am a dinosaur). But I held on to it forever because I love the simplicity of it and the 41-megapixel camera. Anyway, I need to make like Elsa and let it go. I am trying to decide between this phone with the camera mod and the Google Pixel phone. I think I am leaning towards Pixel because based on your reviews the pictures come out sharper and that is what I like in pictures. Let me know what you think please.
Given it's very low price point (by Hasselblad standards), this review isn't too surprising. It would have been nice if the mod could deliver photos similar to those made by Hasselblad's X1D-50C, H6D-100C or H6D-50C digital cameras. Then again, those cameras have 50MP and 100MP sensors and start around $9000.
