It could be distilled water,it does not conduct electrons (conducts vert little compared to tap or salted water).Any phone can survive in distilled water, and you are misinforming your content consumers.OP5T is a great phone anyway, and it is NOT waterproof,i do not understand why some people are trying to prove the contrary.
i have water resistant's phone too,i dropped into water about 3 times and still function well, but after 2 months it start acting weird and the display started choose stuff randomly,so i want to know that if one plus 5t survive without any problems after 2/3 months ... btw good videos ✌
Dropping this phone in shallow water, even for 5 mins, does not replicate dropping the phone in a swimming pool where the depth of water (up to 2 metres or so) makes a big difference due to the extra water pressure on top.
If you want to replicate a swimming pool, drop the phone into a deep / tall bucket of some kind.
I don't care for the CEO of one plus he is a used car salesman and he blacklisting the you tube reviewers that has been criticizing the way they handling there customer service because it sucks as for a company oneplus sucks too I do not like the CEO he is full of b.s. plus the phone is going up in price
20 cm under water is not that risk like 1,5 meters... So time doesn't matter that much.... anyway u can check water inside camera if u find it thats mean test fail... The speakers even in waterproof phones need while before play music well....
The pool test wasnt correct as the water pressure wouldnt be the same as it would need to be atleast 3 meters of water to make a differanve
And purified water does not conduct electricity so it will not damage the phone
i dono about this but i used to use moto x play which was told to have water resistance, but 2 years of using it has network issues which means i dont have network to call always in emergency mode ,tried every method the service centre told it cannot be corrected ,i dono exact reason for this problem yet , i want some answers about it
This guy is a joke. I seriously feel like finding you and...
The phone is not at all water resistant. It will work for a while and then boom. Once the water reaches the board and you can't do anything. The service centre will not fix even if you have warranty. Board will cost you 18K. Lucky for those who tried and it's working. But please who haven't don't even try.
People (commentators) are just stupid. Amoled screen can survive any liquid, lcd can not (the reason why didplays go off is in connectors to the motherboard). Not that lcd cant but backlight can and the reason why you see liquid trails in lcd water damage is because of diffuser levels has been stuck to each other. Even that can be fixed by drying and cleaning all of diffusers. As someone said before purified water cant damage electric components because of lack of metals and minerals. But what is 100% certain. Mic and headphone will definitely brake.
2:07 --> bubble of air came out of 5T which means water did go in.. not a good sign. It might not show any damage now in the video but will soon.. Note: the pressure of that jar most probably low. Should test in in the same looking glass jar but taller like 3 feet or so. Pressure there at the bottom might be higher which will force the water in more. There we can know much better.
Thanks man!! Wow you have changed my mind, I'll order OnePlus in the next 20 minutes. This water of a thing is very important to me. Meaning I could be beaten by rain and still not worry about the phone!! 👍
However water pressure increases exponentially as depth increase so the 5 min test, although impressive, is inaccurate. Drop it in 8 ft of water....then get back to us. However, any one who brings a phone near any large body of water might be an idiot anyway, so never mind...
Time is not the only important factor. There's also depth of submersion. Dropping the phone into a 2 meter deep swimming pool would submerge it way deeper, causing way higher water pressure to act on the phone, possibly breaking the waterproofing very quickly. A puddle - looks like no problem - a pool - I would not expect it to survive that.
It is still very nice to see that OnePlus 5T is waterproof in practice to some degree. Great work, thank you!
