Our 2016 Proton Persona is a relatively low-mileage unit - 18 months after buying, only clocked 14,000km. Just sent it for servicing at Proton Edar Puchong, oil change to Petronas semi-syn, total cost RM199.

i still do not recommend this SC, as i live nearby. the last time i went there buying air cabin filter, they gave me the wrong one even after reconfirm it will fit. they did refund for me but i just feel they follow their experience than the book. Last time, they skipped engine air intake filter, so right now i have an overdue air intake filter. frankly i dont feel confident in them.
RULE OF THUMB: regardless which SC, download the service timeline from proton website bring it and specifically ask any SC to follow mati mati, i dont like them over charging ,suggesting me additional service that has zero benefit, like washer fluids and new car 1k engine flush(engine flush at 1k thats a freaking scam)
i tried service at Cose and i can say they also dont know what they are doing, after service suppose they gonna reset my next maintenance warning to 40k or 6 months, when i ask them, they say after my previous warning reached to 0 then come back to reset.... im like really???
i also tried SC at puchong jaya jalan serindit, they dont even bother reset my maintenance warning.
im driving the new persona as well.
i would prefer service at senaxis at Taman Mayang Jaya.
you can use 195/55/15
you can use this calculator here for precise measurement, overall diameter must not be over or under 3%
im using cc6 195/55/r15, road noise is significantly dropped. This is a soft tyre, it deforms better to adsorb bumps, and thus it consume a little more fuel about 10% more, probably due to my up size tyre. Ecopia would be a good option if FC is your concern, for better grip michilen energy mx2 is good but pricer, not sure about good year, gonna ask those new batch persona owners
Hi Kon, would like to ask you should i go for coating or waxing on my newly bought honda city in order to protect the car's paint? or don't have the need to do so?
just daily driving car, thinking want to avoid those stones that might scratch off the paint
There are many complaints about the Punch CVT, but I don't hear unreliability among them. Usually, people kutuk it for being noisy and unrefined, but the transmission, to my knowledge, is also pretty robust.
No. The mechanic in charge told me that he also surprised to see the condition of the gear box. Now I just need to wait for phone call. I also want to see the report details which to be submitted next week... Because the car was inspected yesterday while going 60k km maintainance. I will share the info once I got it.
Bagus proton.. good service.. promise deliver by them.. x mcm perodua.. minimum waiting service 1jam 30minit.. maximum i wait hit 3 hours service.. so much waste time.. plus.. if do diagnose by computer must add on rm60.. aiyooo.. haha...pape pun good job proton..
Hey, Mr. Kon, unrelated but, you know the jerkiness in the CVT? I went to Senaxis for service a few months ago and complained about it regarding my Iriz and they did something to greatly reduce it. I didn't catch what the foreman said, but I think he said he retuned the clutch. My Iriz felt really smooth after that. But of course, it's not a permanent fix and my Iriz is starting to feel jerky again already. Also, I finally got an answer about ECU update from Senaxis - no ECU update for 1.3 model Iriz. Only available for 1.6 models. But there is an electronic steering update available for my 1.3 Iriz. Proton HQ couldn't give me a straight answer regarding this but somehow Senaxis could. Also, regarding my bearings issue, I lodged a complain to Proton HQ and they said should be covered under warranty and will issue refund. Still waiting for the refund... More than a month already. Called up the service center who was at fault and they said will call me back with an update but they didn't call me back. Now it's raya already. Have to wait some more to call them.
Hey kon, I owned a Persona MT that I bought this year, I have some issue with minor occasion rattle that came out from the passenger side of the dashboard near the airbag, would u recommend going to Mutiara Damansara SC for warranty?
Thanks! if from behind the dashboard on the driver side, I'm not sure about that, haven't had that sound before though, if coming from A-pillar, B-pillar and C-pillar is easier, just push the fitments back till they click into place
Check under your glovebox, open the glovebox and just peek under the compartment to where the airbag module is located, sometimes the padding's adhesive comes lose cause of heat (maybe stuck in traffic or parked under sun for a long time) and would rattle whenever you're driving or idling or choking your clutch, same thing happened to my Iriz, yanked out the old padding (it's useless anyway because the adhesive is destroyed by heat), and replaced it for free at Proton COSE.
John L That one you have to ask Petronas and Proton. The 10k service intervals is only claim for Proton cars only. That is why the SE is only available at selected Proton Service Centre hence the name SE. The 800 one you can buy it at any retails shop but not the SE. Once I saw at retails (the SE) they sell it at 126 ringgit, I don't know how do they get that, but I have to consider it fake considering they sell other Proton oil without Proton originals signature at their bottle.
