The all-new OnePlus 5 is here, and it's the most expensive OnePlus device yet, starting at $479. The well-loved OnePlus 3T is no slouch, though, and we take a look at what separates it from OnePlus's latest.

Phones have really hit their limits. I'm using a OP3 and was looking to upgrade but man there's nothing better offered. My phone lasts all day, has dash charging, and never lags a bit. Smartphones really losing their value
this is my tactic i bought the op2 so i get the 5 or six or whats best at the market for the best price op has to step up their game the price is going way to much up and the upgrades are getting worse they are gonna be losing customers fast if this continues i mean those are great devices but the op5 in my coutry costs 200€ more then op2
Ive had both, the only noticeable changes in the 5 is:
Slightly better charging speed
Better to grip
Thats about it, the first two should not worth an upgrade, if camera is really important you would have bought a pixel or samsung by now
although i will probably buy the 3t i think that onplus should keep the "flagship in midrange price". i don't know if you saw it but every new generation the new phone costs more. i mean when the 3t was launched it cost less then the oneplus 5
getting my 5 tomorrow, mostly because it's microphone is a huge upgrade. nobody talks about it (only heard 1 reviewer talk about it) but the OP3's microphone sucks! when you're recording at a concert or something similar the bass cracks, making it sound like a hardcore festival. I do prefer the design of the OP3 though :/
video sound is betyder poor on the OPO and also on the 3t - if you record a music concert, then the video is fine while the sound sucks. It basically destroys the video experience. I simple don't understand why reviewers never raise/check this point. It's a fundamental aspect that should downgrade the overall rating IMHO
But it doesnt have OIS and also apparently has an annoying jelly effect while scrolling which irritates the eyes. And both of them are hardware issues so no software fix is possible. And 3T has a better design too.
im looking for a second phone. aka what flossy carter would call a trap phone. something to use basically while my s8+ is sitting on wireless charge for a couple of hours or something to take with me when i dont wanna flash my s8+ around. should I go for the 3t or the 5. benefits of 3t is i much prefer the look and unique style over the iphone copy and i would prefer to not have people ask me is that an iphone and have to confuse them when I say no its a oneplus. whats that? yeah exactly. the oneplus 3t is also obviously a tad cheaper but the 5 has the spec upgrades. not sure if theres enough difference in the real world to care if i already use an s8+ as my daily driver.
04:16 I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE ... I am a photography nerd and I purely sooo much hoped that OnePlus would have copied LG s dual camera setup instead of Apple's one ... to an experienced photograper like me that zoomed in lens is pretty much useless you can actually get closer to the subject and if you do so because of the way visual angles work OU ARE GETTING THAT DOF BACKGROUND BLUR EITHER WAY you could either use the feature or GET 3 FEET CLOSER TO THE SUBJECT LIKE OMG would a wide angle lens be more suitable? FUCK YES but they wasted the second camera ... also that little edge that the 5 does not have... the OIS ... so I have to ask you HOW GOOD IS THE EIS on the 5 it it like the Pixel ? is it unnoticeable ? and which main camera has a higher field of view the one on the 5 or on the 3 or 3T ?
hmm I am new user but there is a problem. one phone with OIS and the other with only EIS and absolutely unusable 4k video recording. ughh this is tough choice for me. freaking sad that I am thinking about older model being actually more worth...
Good video Bro, I don't understand the obsession of every company making phone with all metal design, its so freaking sleepary all the time and you have to use a skin or cover to get over it or have a risk always to break it. Onplus One has the best design in my opinion, some might disagree but I never had to use a cover and still use it with one hand.
OnePlus should have optimized the one camera setup, kept the battery size from 3T & added ip68 water proofing. cos the dual camera cost so much now the price is not attractive anymore...with just a little more money, u can get a real flagship phone. I still love my 3T
I believe with couple updates the Image Stabilization should be sorted out on the 5. Take the Google Pixel for example the phone uses the same EIS as well and it's camera is one of the best in a smartphone today. It competes with other flagships with OIS like Samsung, Apple, Htc etc producing high quality photos and videos. Also when the 3 & 3t were released the quality wasn't that good but OnePlus delivered over time with the updates released to fine tune the phone. So just be patient and wait on Oneplus😀. Remember it's a small company so they don't have have much resources as other manufacturers.
