The Samsung Gear S3 is a bigger version up from the Gear S2, but there's more to this new smartwatch that makes it a nice package.

Be aware, be very aware.
You cannot take any Samsung device back to the Samsung shop if it is not faulty! Even if you only purchased it four days ago.
My scenario, I purchase a new S3 classic gear watch on Sunday, at the staggering price of £349.
I have not worn this device in the last four days since purchasing it as it will not link up with my broken Samsung note 4. Meaning this device is rendered useless to me.
I hear you say is the phone still in warranty? Yes the phone is still in warranty. Then why can’t it be fixed by Samsung?
Well this phone was purchased in the United States, they can only fix phones that have been purchased in the UK or Europe!
So I need to wait to take my phone back to the United States to get it fixed!
In the meantime I have a rather expensive item that I cannot use.
The Store manager in Bournemouth told me that it is UK policy that has been dictated to them by Big Samsung UK.
When on the telephone to Big Brother UK, they have stated that I need to sort this out with the retailer, the Bournemouth shop. The Bournemouth shop are saying have given us this instruction!
The law states.
30-day right to reject
Under the Consumer Rights Act you have a legal right to reject goods that are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund - as long as you do this quickly.
This right is limited to 30 days from the date you buy your product. After 30 days, you will not be legally entitled to a full refund if your item develops a fault, although some sellers may offer you an extended refund period.
This right to a refund doesn't apply to products you've bought as downloads, though - such as music, games or apps.
You can, however, ask for a digital product to be repaired or replaced if it develops a fault. And if this isn't possible, or is unsuccessful, you have the right to receive a price reduction.
I am talking 4 days, not 30 days.
Let’s look at the flipside.
Apple, although I’m not keen on the Apple products, I purchased my daughter a laptop when visiting Texas in the United States.
When this laptop went a little wrong, the shop in Southampton could not do enough to fix the fault. They were aware of where this product was purchased. But as they said Apple is Apple is Apple! Regardless of where you purchase it is still part of our product range we need to sort this out for you.
This means their customer services is incredibly good!
This means they keep their customers.
This means all of my products are Samsung , including the screen I am writing this rant on.
This means as they die I will be moving away from Samsung.
Such a shame, that a store can lie to me, and the accompany can be so small-minded and not forward thinking.
Oh and by the way no one in store when I purchased this watch on Sunday made me aware of this scenario, if they have made me aware of this scenario I would ask them to set up the phone in store.
Has anyone else experienced this disgusting behaviour from Samsung?
I will get my money back watch this space.
Thanks for the video! I like your shots and video composition. Have you heard of modality? It is a texting app that allows you text on the watch with ease. It is a word based system instead of letter based so you can text faster and easier on the watch. Thanks again for the video!
smartwatches are still an underdeveloped technology, with inbuilt onbsolescent atrocious battery life (smartphones included). smartwatches are also severely overpriced, adding little practical use. when smartwatches become super cheap, then ill start buying them.

Poor review by android authority.
Returned this watch ($350) and purchased a Huawei watch ($200) to replace it, which I liked way more. The Huawei looks VERY similar to the gear S3 classic. In fact, I grabbed the gear s3 by accident once, thinking it was the Huawei watch, and didn't notice until the watch turned on... But the Huawei is thinner, is more "premium" looking, and has much more support and functionality. Also, I expect it will get Android wear 2.0.
Gear S3 classic was my first smartwatch but I found it to be severely lacking in the apps and functionality department. Svoice is terrible, apps that were advertised are missing, and most apps have terrible reviews and buggy functionality. Svoice did not understand "navigate home/work/etc". The yelp app is slow and did not show results in a sensible way. The gear Uber app does not work and bugs out when you try to use the app to call an uber pool... which is the only uber service I use due to its low cost. Spotify is still not on the app store. No google maps. Samsung uses "here" maps which is much worse than google maps. The watch strap is really crappy, the huawei watch's leather band definitely looks much more premium.
Shame on Samsung for releasing this watch with SUCH POOR APP SUPPORT. I don't trust that Samsung will improve this watch much. Being a victim of the note 7 fiasco, I think I will stay away from Samsung from now on... or at least think twice before buying one. Not that I would ever go to Apple...
The only good things about the Gear s3 is the watch faces and the always-on face, which are beautiful and can trick people into thinking its a real watch. E-mail/SMS notifications are great and the ability to reply to emails/texts through handwriting recognition by swiping out the letters was awesome. Other than that, you won't get notifications from many more apps due to poor app support. Battery life is good but not much better than the Huawei it seems. Speaker is loud and clear for voice calls. The Tizen OS itself is snappy and the rotating bezel just feels good. Samsung pay is cool, but for some reason, in some cases it does not seem to qualify for promotions the same way that paying on your phone does. For example, I was supposed to get a $15 gift card from samsung for using a chase card in samsung pay on my galaxy s7 3 times. Using the samsung pay on the watch did not activate this promotion.
If you want to get ripped off, and only care about sms/email/call notifications, buy this watch. I found myself pulling my phone out all the time with the gear s3, which kind of defeats the purpose of having it.
