The Surface 3 is a $500 tablet/laptop hybrid but is it worth it?
With the new Intel Atom X7 processor, 10.8" screen and upcoming Windows 10 upgrade the Microsoft Surface 3 makes a solid laptop with the Type Cover accessory but how does it fare as a tablet?

Using My Surface 3 to watch this video. I agree with all that Austin says. Especially about the VERY slow charging via the Micro-USB port. I think that is the Surface 3's BIGGEST design flaws. My system can take a WHOLE day and WHOLE night of constant charging to get half a battery of energy that doesn't last more than an hour. Also.. it's word predicting function when you use the onscreen keyboard is retarded. It never works properly. Microsoft are just dying a slow and painful death, like their phones did.
School provided me with this and it was seriously unreliable and I got it new so it hasn’t been dropped it took along time to boot or sometimes nearer boot and the screen is glitchy even though a hadn’t dropped it
super regret buying this suffice i rather buy laptop... many functions are lack and slow even when typing this comment on this youtube comments it take longer time to complete this comment. dont buy not worth and problematic Microsoft tablet surface three. wont buy it ever.
Windows Surface was my "dream computer". Even though I was reluctant because of the price, I made up my mind to buy it. After one year using it, I kind of regret it. Main problems:
1 - Keyboard is often not recognized (I would say once a day, and I have to restart).
2 - System crashes more often comparing to my other experiences with Windows.
3 - Screen is gradually developing more yellowish spots over months of use.
4 - Insufficient storage comparing to regular laptops. This was no problem when OneDrive had the “online-only files”, which allowed users to visualize all files without actually downloading them and taking up space. Microsoft decided to get rid of this incredible function.
5 - Charging connection got loose over time, and now it does not always charge properly.
6 - Battery life seems very short to me, around 4 hours, and takes a long time to charge (comparing to my boyfriend's Macbook, it stays far behind).
Of course there are positive things about, and in spite of these problems, in general I would say I am more happy then upset about it. But I am already thinking of buying a regular and more reliable laptop for my work. So for the price, I wouldn't really recommend it.
In my opinion, it would look pretty terrible, but others might not care about it quite as much. However, I think for short texts/emails, both should be perfectly fine, and for longer texts, I'd probably rather choose a discrete keyboard anyways :)
I'm saving up to get one of these because I want something portable to doodle with that isn't my sketchbook... I wanna get back into doing some digital art, and I think that this sounds like a good option
Did you just stop watching after that point?
He said "Microsoft really did deliver with the Surface Pro 3, now we have the smaller version the Surface 3" and continued on reviewing the Surface 3, not the Pro.
Just a small recommendation, if you're an aspiring artist wanting an on-screen tablet, get the surface 3 or surface 3 pro. It fits the needs of paint tool sai perfectly (from my experience) and it's really fun to use. The price is a bit high compared to the lower priced desk tablets that Wacom has, but it's cheaper than a Cintiq13. It's good for road-trips, camping, and air flights when paper can't cut it. Although it's not as powerful as an actual desktop, if you travel a lot I recommend it.
I have a Surface Pro (yes, pro) 3 with an Intel i5 (don't know specific model) and 8GBS of memory w/ a 256GB SSD. It's definetly more for the pros, since I use it to game and develop software with Clickteam.
Also, I love using the tablet interface! But it's much better on Windows 8.1 Pro than Windows 10 Pro. The Metro interface was really easy for me, and I loved it! Is there any tool that I can use to get the Metro start menu on Win10? (I know there's the fullscreen start menu but I hate it. I want the actual metro start menu.)
''CONCERNING THE LTE VERSION!''
im having no luck at all whatsoever in seeing video or people confirming that surface 3 lte works on network phone calls and text as if it was a phone as on android lte tablet phone calls and text will work as if it is a phone.
