I don’t understand nor care about people’s outrage when it comes to this goddamn notch (it’s not a big deal, and everyone sounds like a bunch of crybabies). I’ll be looking at the Huawei P20 (since I own a P9 which I bought unlocked for 570€, which by the way, Jaime should look into more before filming these, Huawei was always the most expensive Chinese brand, the P20 being 600 is... absolutely the same as 3 years ago) as long as it has a headphone jack, because I own expensive 3.5m jack headphones, which I’m not willing to give up for wireless garbage sound quality.
No real complaints about my P9, so if the P20 is a disappointment, I guess there’s always the iPhone X gen 2 (I can’t stand any Android skin besides Huawei’s anyways), and at that point, I might just accept the fact that the headphone jack is not coming back.
Frustrating, but Apple is to blame.
I almost bought a p10 two weeks ago for £450 but the guy in the shop pointed out the p20 was due out soon so I decided to hold out. I’ll tell you one thing I ain’t paying £800 for a android phone. That’s Apple my money
Why pay premium for a China phone with little to no innovation? Huawei want to launch themselves a premium brand but sadly this is not the case in North America and Europe which knows this brand as a lower costing alternative to Samsung and Apple.
I think Huawei is nuts with those prices here in the states. This is a phone that you have to buy off contract the major phone companies may blacklist them on carrier lines. Also are you really going to buy this over a an S9+ or an Apple? heck I WOULDN'T TRADE MY HTC U11 for this.
bruh. huawei, you dont have to copy iphone x. you already have quite massive amount of cult followers since the release of mate9 and p10. Personally I love my p10 plus in dazzling blue. it's unique and different, especially the finish. I don't want to buy a phone under the impression that 'I want an iphone x but I can't afford it so I buy the clone'
Notches everywhere and I hate it. It's better to have thin bezels like Note 8/S9 than a damn notch. I just hope this "notch desease" does not reach midrangers, since those are the phones I always go for (flagship prices are crazy here).

It started on android with the essential phone and quickly infected the iPhone x and now is back on android, it is a cost saving way to advertise a larger screen and larger screen to body ration legally, untill pop up lens and back screen phones appear.
The android co founder essential phone not the iPhone x is the originator of the notch last year.
So dont do what everybody does and give apple credit for something they copied again.
The whole reason for the notch is to by pass legal standards for creen measurements by taking advantage of a loophole.
By having a notch (incomplete bezel) one can claim higher screen diagonal measurements than one actual has, because the notch takes up part of that measuremet.
So Apple can claim 5.8, instead of 5.5 on the iphone X, etc.
Companies must still put an * to say actual screen area is less.
It Also allows them to us less material to get they size the tradition complete bezel way.
Again good for them $$$ and diagonal claims.
Bad for customers as you do not get that full screen measurement without obstruction.
This will not be needed as we go to pop up lens and sensors, like I have talked about all last year.
18/9 and higher aspect ration phones do the same trick to a lesser degree thanks to the LG G6.
It allows the manufactuer to post legally a larger diagonal number for screen diagonal measurement, even though a 5.8" 18/9 phone will always give you less actual screen area than a 5.6" 16/9 phone.
And 19/9 and higher phones will give you less actual screen area than an 18/9 phone.
This allow the company to claim the bigger number while actually giving you less screen area, and the phone has less material and is cheaper to manufacture of traditional 16/9 phones.
That is why both the essential phone notch (not the iphone X) and 18/9 have caught on so much.
Must will never know or understand or care.
People who want less bezzels must also embrace the caveats that come along with it. There has to be some place to fit in the sensors. Don't cry over the notch, all you can hope is for the notch to get smaller.
Huawei have probably been selling their phones at lower prices to break into the western markets. They've probably had a look at the Samsung and apple model to try and make their product more desirable.
Parfey ok everyone here is retarded but you particularly are. Aside from the fact that the notch is smart because it maximizes screen estate, THE VERTICAL CAMERA IS GENIUS IT MAKES AR EVEN BETTER AS THE PHONE IS PUT SIDEWAYS WHEN USING AR. YOURE A DUMBASS STOP COMPLAINING FOR SHIT ON THINGS YOUR PEANUT BRAIN CANT UNDERSTAND. Kys.
