Is it possible to build muscle on calisthenics? My idea of the necessary things to build muscle is overload, but in calisthenics, dont you start to get used to the body weight exercises that you do? Sorry im very new to calisthenics but im starting to get very interested in it

No with calisthenics your training the muscle to pump and expand and since it's your own body weight you can do it everyday. That way you're training the muscle to stay I an expanded state and that's where your gains come from. Plus being able to do that many reps with your body weight make you hella fucking strong

Dominik Jakobi True it is a slow process, but it's a very fun life style. I use to lift weights (no offense to any gym goers) but I got very bored with it after years and years of training. I feel a lot better with calisthenics because it's free

A muscle only knows tension and overload. He doesnt know where it comes from. I think building muscle with calisthenics is a bit slower than by training with free weights or machines, but on the other hand you've got way more coordination, which adds to a more holistic and health-beneficial training and muscle gain. And bodyweight exercises can be increased in difficulty. When 20 Pushups are getting too easy for you, try decline pushups, explosive pushups, diamond pushups etc. If those are getting too easy - go for some kind of dips or weighted pushups. If those are done, go for one-limbed exercises instead of the ones you use 2 arms (or legs) for.

+Miguel Cabahug you never get use to your own body weight, you just add more reps when you do. If you don't want to add more reps you beat your best time. You get gains, trust me!

Consideration how much explosive power they use for these workouts in their arms and especially their triceps, I'd say they could definitely give some pro boxers a run for their money. And the well developed core proves to be able to take some hits so yeah
