I picked the LG G6 a year after it's release, It was the smart choise because it's almost half the proce of an S9 but the S9 it's not double the phone by any means, I still get a premium phone with a mid-range proce tag. I love it
had the S8. It was cool as hell for like a month then I actually didn't really care for the curved scree, It was always too slippery. Plus with just some photos, social media apps, and light news reading apps the phone would lag and get annoyingly hot. Im with an iphone 7 Plus now but when I switch back to android I might get the G6 or Pixel.
I am a samsung girl, always used them..but the newest screen design they have is too much for me..i dont like how it holds in the hand, it doesnt feel secure and safe. I am so clumsy lol. I recently got a g6 and it feels strong and holds securely in the hand..works just fine too and does everything i need it to
S8 cost 48,000rs while the G6 cost 33,000rs...
...G6 is much more durable, and it has 3.5mm + quad DAC
lyI'd save those 15,000 extra rupees today, and maybe upgrade to the next LG flagship in July with Amazon/ Flipkart exchange program.
Great smartphone the LG g6 nice cameras I have got to get one at £399 sale right now I got the Galaxy S8 since it came out last year also a great beautifully designed, but I can see how nice the twin cameras are on the G6 taking great photos & all the other features of the LG g6 and for this unlocked at £399 sale price I can't say no I'm getting it now thanks for your review as always Android authority is great so cheers & peace
Good and genuine comparison, LG G6 is one finest product of its age where all competitors are advancing with more bump up in technology but G6 has been able to keep the essentials at its core. Now I must tell you the phone which medically suits human body with most of the respect is G6 not samsung, if you are conscious about your health and specially eyes go for LG G6, this no would would discuss. People buying AMOLEDS and OLEDs will bring massacar to their eyes, and this an honest opinion
I chose the S8 despite it costing more. Besides my experience with the V10 (battery overheating, bootloop issues), I just loved the screen and features of the S8. I had three Samsung phones before trying the V10.
I know the G6 is getting rave reviews among tech publications and YouTube reviews but I really would love to see if, in a year or two, the G6 has the same issues that have plagued other LG phones.
I have both and of course fans of the s8 will knock the G6 but it being at the price point it is now alot less than the s8 the G6 camera is way better straight up I've played with both cameras and the s8 has its flaws to but the G6 is better built its no slouch and the 835 isn't all much of a improvement over the 821 I like both phones but the G6 is a much better built and quality phone if you don't have one don't knock take it from. Somone that has both the s8 has the popularity award like a iPhone not what it's all hypes up to be
I previously had a Samsung Galaxy S6 and was very disappointed with the metal material on the side it dented and scratched very easily and the screen scratch easily as well so I was looking for a different cell phone company to go to and I had decided the LG G6 so I choose the LG G6 and I must say I'm very happy with my choice great battery life amazing display and I'm a pretty big Android gamer and I'm surprised to say that my S6 performed better as it ran most games at 60fps while my LG G6 will run it at 60fps but will have frame drops slightly noticeable but overall I'm very happy
G6 all the way I have seen different comparison videos and even though on paper Samsung has faster newer processor the g6 had no problems keeping up in everyday use Samsung over did there s8 to be honest
I had a choice when I walked into the store to get my phone and it was between these two phone. I had a Samsung before and an LG as well. The killer look of the S8 was pulling my buy towards it but I decided to go for the G6. I do not regret it but love my G6, particularly for me what took to make the choice was the UI. G6 is probably the closest thing to stock android I'd say plus you wait literally half the time or less to get firmware updates. Samsungs are very nice phones but it's like they always say on every review IT DEPENDS WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR IN A PHONE!!!....I personally love the lag free feeling of the lg g6. I had a G3 and a G4 and they were the same. Always so smooth.
I have had the S8 in my hands but I don't like the feel. It feels like a little toy in big hands, a lot too slim. Aside from that I don't like the curved edges. The only advantage that the S8 seem to have over the G6 is the camera.
S8 I have used both and the lack of overall functionality in G6 coupled with lower specs, screen jitter ,slower app load times, higher quality pictures taking longer to save leaves it......well lacking!
Love most parts about my G6, but... FInally went through photos on my laptop (17") rather than just the phone, and I must admit I was pretty disappointed with a lot of the wide angle shots. The foreground almost always comes out very "pixeled", and the less-than-perfect lighting condition shots are nowhere near what I'd expect.
I mainly use the standard camera setup, but I'd think that would suffice for some great shots.
It's a shame that photos are only great looking when still confined to the phone screen.
Anyone experience the same? And how would the S8 stack up on this?
What i like about the s8.
What i like about the G6
Camera or should i say Cameras
Fingerprint Sensor placement
Hi fi Quad DAC(hence i live in the Philippines)
The processor being newer is irrelevant because touchwiz and all the unremovable bloatware slows it down so it's not actually faster than the G6 because the G6 has a light ui with far less bloatware. Yes you could root the S8 and fix the problem somewhat, but doing so voids your warranty and if you have insurance through your carrier it voids that as well so if your phone craps out or gets cracked you're paying full price for repairs or a replacement, vs at worst a small deductible fee.
iseeu1980 it basically makes music sound amazing, especially if you're dealing with good headphones and high quality audio files like FLAC. This phone is available internationally now, just make sure you're getting the international version and not the region locked ones.
Lets be clear, I have the S8 for around 8 months and It's really nice phone, nice features, nice screen, nice pictures....ect. One major down point for me is the curved edge...what a mess if you try to found a screen protector, almost nothing work. I prefer not curved screen cause its more easy to protect. When I look the G6, the screen is so gorgeous, big and clear. I'm thinking right now to sell, my S8 and buy a G6. What do you think?
I was leaning towards the S8 but that's before I saw how the G6 records video with the front camera. I also love how wide the shots are with rear camera photos. But the S8 feels awesome in the hand and having an iPhone 6s plus it feels like a feather in comparison. Have not had a chance to hold or use the G6. (Yes I'm an iPhone user currently but my Android itch is back with a vengeance.)
Everyone forgot about people's need! We hate back glass we hate no headphone jack we hate that we have to buy cases and power banks we love more buttons we love stereo speakers we love ir blaster ....but who listens?
S8 has too much software and is still a bit confusing. Lg g6 is less time consuming on finding apps and etc. I've have went more than 24 hours on my g6 without charging. S8 is too slim for me. It's like having tunnel vision. Options and setting are more straight forward on costomizing. Oled won't last as long and sure of getting screen burn it eventually. Lg has less bloat ware. And more snappy loading apps.
The 250 dollar difference is one of the biggest issues for me. I couldn't find the reasons to pay the extra for the Samsung...and based on past experience (i've had a Galaxy S2 and a Note 4) Samsung is still frustrating when it comes to Software updates
