Android 8.0 and 8.1 offers users the latest in restricted and truncated app usage! Whether it's Call Recording apps or taking screen shots on YOUR smart phone, Oreo 8.0 and 8.1 makes absolutely sure that you can't use any of these apps from any developer! But that's not all! On certain phones, most notably Google's own devices (Pixel, Pixel 2) and a few others like the Motorola Moto Z² Force, owners of Roku and Amazon Fire sticks will also be restricted from using the screen casting feature to cast to these devices from your smart phone! Why? This is done to force users to purchase Google's own version of these devices, Chrome Cast! Chrome Cast is a subscription based device which keeps charging, and charging and charging users. Forget those other devices you may already be happily satisfied with or even love (I love both of my Roku devices)! Let Google extort you into using their devices and paying them more money!
So, if you were happy with your old phone and the expanded features of previous Android OS versions, think again! Prepared to be blown away by exactly how much you can't do anymore! Fewer features! Built in exclusivity to Google's own stuff! Zero access to certain types of apps (Wich developers have been particularly coded out of working around) and more!
If increased efeciency, expanded usage, and more person control over your device is what you want, forget it! Android 8.0 and 8.1 offers to take away so much more than it gives back to users, costing you a ton of wasted time, money and effort trying to get something back! Enjoy!
1 question, when is Firefox or some other development team going to creat an open source OS for use in Android devices? I'd side load a different OS to my smart phone in a heartbeat if they did!
Down with corporate bullies and financial Aristocracy! Get the *#$&! out of my personal, private, business and choices!
Yeah! Unrelated, but I've had Instagram shut down and not upload certain photos. My solution has always been to just screenshot that photo and then the screen shot always uploads just fine. What's the deal? Conflict with their compression software?
My Nexus 6p was so buttery smooth with Android marshmallow. I got excited when I saw that I could get Oreo, especially when Google was promising to support their future updates. I got Oreo, and ever since then my phone has been slow and apps take extra time to open like an old phone. On top of that, my phone crashes when I'm using YouTube. I really hope 8.1 helps make this better. Otherwise I want to find out how to go back to marshmallow. :-(
They can fix a burger emoji but not worry about black crushing on the smaller pixel 2. Looks like shit at night. I can't watch some YouTube vids as the blacks and some colours lose detail to just a black mess or are too dark. Mainly in dark rooms or in bed. Never had this problem with any other phones. This bad anyway.
I found a cool app that makes your phone yell when its moved, you can make it also ring when its moved so its less weird. But its kinda funny, and actually kinda helpful at keeping people from moving your phone without you knowing. Its called yelling phone. link below if you want it, or you can just search for it in the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.josco.yellingphone&hl=en
Nice video! With my Pixel 2 XL I got the OTA for 8.1 yesterday and whenever I lock my phone or the screen times out, the screen with flicker a bright green for a quick second. The annoying part is that it'll stop for a brief period of time, but will return with a vengeance.
There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the cheese under the burger, you just shouldn't try to cook it that way. I've been having my burgers cheese side down to honor Google for a while. It's perfectly fine. In fact, if you're putting salad on your burger, there's probably something to be said for onions to be pressed down into the burger meat, soaking up those juices, rather than just pressed into the cheese, souring it.
8.1 looks great, and I love the WiFi feature. That's really cool. Shame my wife's Droid Turbo 2 won't get it. I think it'll die with 7.0. But you don't get an Android phone if you want updates. I mean, the phone did come with Lollipop, and it got Marshmallow, and then it got Nougat. That's not bad for Motorola. It also just got the October or November security update. I tried to get her to get a Pixel 2, then all that crap started happening with the P2XL, and now she thinks Pixel means trash. I tried to tell her it was only the big one, and most P2XL owners are still standing by it, but it's like pissing in the wind. She's pretty loyal to Motorola, anyway...
hi, please, can you try to play some 3D game on your device with android 8.1.? Yesterday I updated my google pixel to android 8.1. and my 3D games on my mobile do not work as they should. They behave very specially and sometimes do not even aim. :( I would like to go back android 8.0 but I do not know how to do it, please try if I'm the only one who has this problem, thank you, I will add that from factory reset I tried and did not help :(
