For those crying for the U11 please read the AA webpage post: "We had also planned to include the ZTE Axon M, HTC U11+ and Essential Phone but problems with a defective unit, lack of availability and delays in shipping meant these three devices failed to make the cut. We picked these devices as they’re the latest from each manufacturer and in the case of the Galaxy Note 8, LG V30 and others, they are better than their flagship siblings from earlier this year"
You did something terribly wrong with this list. Mate 10 pro can never be the best phone in 2017, not in a million years. It's a beautiful phone with great battery life, with much more important practical shortcomings. It can hardly be in top 10 considering much better overall competition.
I am surprised about your Battery results. All other battery comparisons, I have read and watched so far, had the LG V30 at a lot higher endurance in the field against the same phones you had.
Also the low light performance results surprised me with the LG V30. This might seem me being biased, but the results due surprise me. Also I would like to know how the user vote on the pictures was made, did you placed the names of the devices to the pictures or was it anonym?
I just can't agree that the Huawei mate 10 has a better camera over the pixel 2 XL ... I've tested the mate 10's camera and it's very very great ... But it isn't as good as The pixel's , not even close
Pretty happy with the results, I got myself a 5t And it's a beast, however I do accept that the Note 8 and Mate 10 did better. Those are amazing phones, but you can't denie that the 5t, won't break the bank Lol
@Android Authority, actually in terms of "gaming time" your charts show that the third place goes to the Samsung Note 8 and not the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. check @ 10:35.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro could not even make 6 hours of playtime whilst the Moto Z2 Force looks like it just edges the Samsung Note 8 both well over 8 hrs of playtime.
That should affect the overall winner for Battery and the overall winner.
Gary Awesome Review and definitely have a Big Kool Aide Smile from me.Also Huge Shout out for me to All involved and I was very impressed that the Nokia was in this List. I have the Note 8 and definitely not upset at all.Because I truly respect all in the Channel.Hope all have a Wonderful Holiday and Be safe all and Enjoy definitely earned. Thanks so much Deb ✌️👌👍
only Mate 10 pro 👌, it is best phone you can find at that range of price.A blazing phone , very good display , in my mind best camera ,and the battery is really the best. Note 8 is good but abit more expensive , not a good battery compared to MATE 10 PRO. And finally the design which i care alot mate 10 is wayyy gorgeous , and i forgot ip67 waterproof in the mate 10 pro.
You guys sure you did the battery and audio test correctly? It differs from many others. Audio winner is right but the test result is shocking. And also battery test. Someone did a run down of all the flagship and the V30 won by a country mile.
I want to switch from Samsung and Apple (fanboy for years) Which phone do you recommend? It is important for me to sell it later easily.
I want great battery, performance, excellent camera, snappy UI and lot of storage.. I don't need headphone jack, wireless charging or 2k display.
I was considering the razer phone as my next phone because I like a good battery, the screen and speakers are incredible. And I do game quite a bit on my phone (even though the games aren't those fancy race games with top-notch graphics) I mostly play Clash Royale and PVZ Heroes. I watch a lot of youtube too, so the 120 Hz is nice. I currently use a Galaxy S6, so Samsungs flagships had a big chance too.
But then I decided to watch a bunch of reviews of top phones that released recently and also decided to make a list of features listed from most important to least important. (I also noticed from these videos that even though the Razer battery is massive, battery life still isn't all that great because of the screen) On top of the list for me are the battery life and speed of the phone. And on the bottom is the speakers/headphone jack (I use a Bluetooth headset 95% of the time). The screen quality has to be good, but not note 8 good. And the camera good, but not Pixel 2 good. And the price has to be around the price of an iPhone x screen repair. So there is one phone that fits almost perfectly in the picture here.
So I went with it, the OnePlus 5T, a days power in half an hour and a days power on a full charge. Seems excellent, not to mention the processor, RAM and more than decent camera/screen. Only thing I wouldn't have minded is if they removed the headphone jack and gave it stereo speakers. Because who needs a headphone jack when you have Bluetooth 5.0. Also, Oxygen OS is godlike. If you didn't guess it yet, OP 5T is my pick for smartphone of the year.
It's just one way of looking at phones so no point trying to say whether it is fair or right. I still think China made phones in general do not have the international quality standard in terms of manufacturing and production. They're number one in copying, and any Chinese guy would not deny that. I will give then another few more years before they are up to par with US or the Koreans.
