Mine got wet at work when I was wearing a Tyvek suit and it came out of my pocket and fell down to my boot where it was wet from water splashing. Not sure how long it was there but by the time I noticed part of the screen was dim, then little by little it got worse until the whole screen went dark like the backlight went out (probably should have turned it off and let it dry). I could still use it I just could barely see anything. A day later I dropped it and the screen cracked and that was the final thing that killed the screen completely.
Guys plz do not trust on them, I brought moto x play 4 months ago, I tested in water first time it was working good in the water but few days before my phone slept from my hand and went into the bucket, from that day onward moto x play is not working at all water went inside the phone, but here is thing my phone is covered in warranty and when I took this phone to service center they say we cannot claim the phone in warranty though if you read the feature they say it's water proof so why that's does not covers in warranty. Trust me guys I had a very bad experience don't buy this phone.
Daniel Smith actually it says water resistant...not proof. IP57 means it can handle rain and the occasional splash not putting it in the bath tub. If the warranty says you are not covered it's because that is true. You should do your research first before doing stupid things
