The Galaxy Note8 and S8+ are both great phones - but they're also super similar. Did Samsung accidentally make the better phone earlier in the year, or are the Note8's upgrades really worth the premium you pay for them?

What do you think about my situation? I currently am using a s8+ unlocked but from at&t and if you didn't know, theirs so many different versions of the s8, like all the carriers and then comes those rare 6gb ram Chinese s8+ . I currently have the worst s8+ because I will always be an update behind and currently till this day, I'm still stuck with 7.0 when I want to get the latest android software update 7.1.1 instead. So I want to sell my s8+ plus and buy another s8 but if i do, it will barely make a difference. so why not upgrade to a note 8 instead ? so I could at least see some differences and have that update where I could use the whole screen to my advantage without those damn "on screen buttons" being there? Should I get the note 8? And pay 200 more ? What do you guys think ? I'm up for it
Hmm so noticeably better battery life and just smaller enough to be more comfortable in pocket and general use VS pen that I bet no one uses anyways? Even if they costed the same S8+ would be my choice, and it's not even a contest with price difference.
I prefer the Note 8 over the S8+ much more , I like the square design more than the round one from S8+ . I have both of them and I use the Note 8 much more than S8+ and the battery life is the same for me , it's not true that it lasts less than S8+ .
The problem is that both run Android and that garbage of a skin called Touchwiz/Samsung Experience. I had both when they came out. Got sick of them in a week and sold them at a loss. Good riddance. Samsung just doesn’t know software.
coming from htc 10 tried both note 8 and s8 plus. i decided to go for note 8. as it feels faster. s 8plus felt so slow as fuck i rather stay with my htc 10 than getting s8 plus. so i went with note 8 and no regrets
Note 2 was my last phone that i bought which died after 2 years and since that i am using iphone 5s because i couldn't buy a new phone so i have been waiting for better note phone and saving up money and i am gonna get my note8 and surface pro next week finally, i really dont like using iphone (ios) because its not my thing and i like android.
I don't know what you're doing but maybe it's the ton of apps you have on your phone! But on my Note 8, I'm getting close to 9-11 hours screen on time!! And that may also be because I have the screen brightness turned down to halfway.. But 5 hours just seems not right..
I got an S8+ because it has the best battery life of all 3 devices, S8, S8+ and Note 8. And that is more important to me than 2GB more ram or a stylus pen. All Smartphones already have bad battery, no need to cut it even more if you ahve the choice.
Zach ... How in the hell do u get 7hr sot consistently on s8+?? How? Pls tell me? And u always have some crazy live wallpapers. I notice for some reason, when I theme my s8+ I get less batt and sot. Even if it's just the stock theme.
Kaufen Sie das Samsung Galaxy S8 oder S8 + NICHT bevor Sie dieses Video über LENS FLARE gesehen haben: https://youtu.be/X7Q8c0w-BKc
Die Antwort von Samsung: 'Die Kameraqualität Ihres S8 befindet sich innerhalb der Spezifikationen der Serie.'
The Samsung Galaxy note 8 has more ram which helps it keep apps open and the phone has a better camera and more features. It also has a bigger and better screen. The only thing that it has similarities with is the build material that's it.
I got the Note 8 from AT&T a few weeks ago and my wife got the S-8 and we both just absolutely love our phones, Yes they are spendy but I believe in both cases you are getting your moneys worth and I believe both phones will still be quite good two years from now which even adds more to the value, myself I probably don't use the S Pen as often as some I suppose but I do love that it is there. Great Phone and a great investment.
Love my S8 US unlocked. At $589 is a much better deal than carrying an expensive phablet. The Note 8 is a great phone but paying almost a thousand dollars for it... NO THANK YOU. Save your money until it goes on sale and they drop the price significantly.
I have had the s8+ for nearly 3 weeks decided to get the note 8 and glad I did the extra ram and spen make a huge improvement in my mind and the shape feels so much better. Note 8 is definitely a better phone.
Note 8 over s8+ The s pen adds a ton of functionality that you can't really find anywhere else. People who don't have/use the s-pen usually don't realise how useful it is. People keep bringing up the battery life, but i really think it's a non-issue. If I use my note 8 normally, i usually have somewhere between 35%-40% battery left at the end of the day. I realise that the battery life will probably get worse over time, but 40% is a good buffer at this point. And lets be honest, if the phone lasts all day on a single charge, what more do you really want in terms of battery? Worst case scenario, Samsung has some pretty crazy battery saving options you can turn on in a pinch.
The Note 8, like all Notes, is a powerful desktop PC that fits in your pocket. The S8+ is just a phone. If you don't understand that then you need to study and practice the productivity features of the S Pen. And I don't mean making pretty little drawings or taking notes. Turn off you PC and Notebook and use only your Note for *everything* for a week. You'll thank yourself later.
Regarding battery, the Note 8 has a slightly smaller battery, but a slightly *better* battery life, due to a ~7% better power efficiency. GSM Arena Battery Endurance Ratings are 89h and 88h for the Note 8 and S8+, respectively.
first the video is so awesome, and for me i had the idea the note 8 will be a bomb,,, i don't mean it will explode but i thought it will be much more worth buying that the s8+ but i get little disappointed so now i am waiting the price for the note 8 to drop so i can buy it.
