After the launch of the truly bezel-less smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the company has launched the Xiaomi X1 which is a nearly bezel-less device instead of the truly bezel-less design. The nearly bezel-less design will give the device a futuristic look at an affordable price tag. The device is made out of metal for a sturdy feel.
Display & Camera
The Xiaomi X1 has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. The odd screen resolution is present mainly because of the bezel-less display. The bezel-less displays are very delicate as there is not much material present around the display to absorb the shock. Hence, to compensate that, the display has been given Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Xiaomi X1 has dual 12MP cameras on the back. The setup works similar to the one found in the Xiaomi Mi 6. One sensor will capture 27mm angle images, and the other sensor will capture 56mm zoomed images, both of which will create a bokeh effect (background de-blur). A front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel unit.
Hardware & Software
The Xiaomi X1 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset which has enough juice to run the high-resolution display. The Snapdragon 660 uses eight Kryo cores instead of Cortex cores which will further enhance the efficiency. Apart from the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, the device also comes with a 6GB RAM and 128GB variant. The fingerprint scanner is conveniently placed on the back, just below the camera. The Xiaomi X1 debuts the company s MIUI 9 based on the Android 7.1 Nougat. The MIUI 9 has tonnes of customisability options to satisfy the user.
Battery & Connectivity
The Xiaomi X1 packs a 4,000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The Xiaomi X1 is capable of running two SIM cards on 4G network, and it supports VoLTE.
